As we have previously indicated, your negotiating committee thanks every member who recently voted and provided a strike mandate and the ongoing support. During our session today, the bargaining committee exercised our rights and issued notice of strike to be effective 0001 (EST) April 21, 2018. Attached is our correspondence with the Company and the Minister regarding the notice.
We
will continue to meet with CP bargaining committee today, with
plans to continue through to the deadline. We will be providing
updates as we receive confirmation on each issue to ensure that
each of you are aware of what our rights are and what to expect
if our negotiations fail and a strike is necessary.
The bargaining committee remains solid, united and strong in
their conviction to obtain a negotiated settlement in which the
membership will support through ratification.
We will continue in our attempt to arrive at a negotiated
settlement and will keep you informed on any further
developments.
